CART Makes Final Engine Decision

I've been asleep at the wheel on this one, but here is the big news from CART: Cosworth will supply all teams with 2.65 liter tubrocharged V8s for the next two years. Toyota, Honda, and Rover are out. The effect of this change will be to reduce the team budgets by millions each year, and ensure that the series will continue. This move was one of many sweeping changes enacted by new business-minded CEO Christopher Pook.

I have to think that Bruce Wood was hinting at this at the Laguna Seca race a few weeks ago; congrats . . . (continued)

More on Palladium and TCPA

The NY Times has some analysis of criticisms of the TCPA (Trusted Computing Platform Alliance) and some thoughts on digital rights management. Also, you can view the TCPA's own witepapers at their website and see what they're trying to do. Palladium appears to be the Microsoft visage of their involvement with TCPA (along with Compaq Computer, Hewlett-Packard, I.B.M., and Intel).
