I remember arguing with my friends years ago that you always ride strongest after a crash. Not to sound dramatic, but I rode my best time ever on a course while bleeding so much that my socks were completely red. I couldn't walk the next day, but at the time the adrenaline was so high that I didn't feel any pain. Well, a real cyclist named Armstrong had a similar day today, crashing early in the stage and coming back to win by over 40 seconds over his arch-rival, Jan Ullrich.
