A friend sent me a video clip of a new welding machine that outperforms oxyacetylene. The punch line: it runs on water. (And electricity.) The process dissasociates H2O into hydrogen gas and oxygen radicals. Nothing new here, but apparently the application of hydrogen fuel to welding appears to be unique. Also, this process may be cheaper or easier than other hydrogen fuel systems, or so the inventor's website claims. I love the marketing spin of naming the substance: Aquygen. Apparently the company has contracts from the auto industry as well as the DOD. Time will tell if this is a mass-market kind of thing.
