I find it interesting that the 24-hour news channels devote countless hours of coverage to six trapped miners or five dead commuters, but can barely note the fact that US air strikes have killed dozens of civilians on multiple occasions--many of them women and children.
The answer 'we just do not care' is an uncomfortable one, mostly because it's true. But that can't possibly hurt us in the future, right? There's no blowback angle on this part of the world, is there?
