President-Elect Obama

I've had a number of great conversations with friends and family tonight during the election, and there has been a consistent theme throughout: we are all very, very proud of our country tonight. Let's all hope that this new generation of leaders will forever keep the best interests of our country and her citizens at heart.

Close Races

As I write this, Al Franken has just surged ahead of Norm Coleman in Minnesota by a little more than 300 votes of over 2.5 million cast. In other news, convicted felon Ted Stevens is still polling a few points ahead of his challenger in Alaska. These two races will determine if the Democrats will have 57 or 59 seats in the senate.

There is also some conjecture that the race in Georgia may go to a runoff. If so, the filibuster-proof 60 seats may still be possible for the Democrats.
