Apollo 11 Liveblog

Gizmodo is liveblogging the Apollo 11 moon mission to celebrate the 40th anniversary. The lunar lander reached the surface of the moon July 20th, 1969. For my money, the most significant feat of humankind so far.

Update: to see an example of the ones we need to leave behind, look no further than people who want to turn the Moon into a giant roadside billboard.

RS200 At Pikes Peak

A British team fielded a highly-modified Ford RS200 rally car in this year's Pikes Peak Hill Climb which took place yesterday. While they didn't set any records, the fact that a Group B car from 1984 finds new life at the world's toughest hill climb is a testament to its pedigree and power. Definitely in my top five greatest cars of all time.
