My new car was announced today at the North American International Auto Show. The 2004 Subaru WRX STi has been released and is due in showrooms in the summer. With a 2.5L, 300HP motor, this STi is more powerful than even the Japanese model that uses a 2.0L engine. Ironically, it is emission regulations that has forced Subaru to use a larger-displacement engine. The bottom line is that we benefit! Also included in the package is a driver-adjustable center diff (a-la the Cosworth RS200) that permits the engine torque to be shifted forward or rearward to alter cornering balance under power. Fantastic! Brembo brakes, BBS wheels, and HID headlights complete this awesome package. A devastating blow to anyone who has a deposit on a Lancer Evo. Sorry, boys.
I can't wait!
Update: I've used my secret weapon to leapfrog to the front of the list--June delivery is expected. Most dealears are about 25 deep in orders, which would have meant a December arrival. That's just not acceptable.
They haven't even set MSRP yet. I must be insane.
